There’s something both simultaneously tragic and humbling about seeing human bodies simply discarded after a massacre or disaster. As you see a lifetime of experiences, hopes and fears reduced to nothing but a pile of meat, you quickly realise the complete and fleeting cosmic insignificance of everything people think is so important. Paradoxically, that’s a liberating thought because you are free to enjoy life without the weight of expectations or guilt.
